Max Swan has shared his latest track, ‘LMK’.
A testament to hard graft, the track walks its listener through life’s peaks and troughs. Melding together punchy piano chords, grooving synth lines, and a soulful vocal performance, the Philadelphia riser centres his songwriting on universal, lived experiences.
‘LMK’ details the process of learning to love wholeheartedly, over a potent fusion of jazz, R&B and alternative production. Swan developed the track over a lengthy plumbing stint, during which he rebuilt his home following a flood.
The last five years have seen Swan fine-tune his talent, tracing his passions back to his brother’s childhood bedroom, where he first started to make music. ‘LMK” arrives as a result of this period, one that flexes Swan’s strengths as a songwriter, composer, producer, vocalist and saxophonist.
Speaking on the track’s creation process, Swan shares: “Most of this song was written during long plumbing shifts. I’d hold onto melodies and lyrics throughout the day, then come home and build the world around them one piece at a time.”
