Iconic Birmingham nightclub Snobs is set to clear out of its Broad Street location just two-and-a-half-years after moving in.
The city’s most famous nightclub has had a number of homes since first opening back in 1972 on Suffolk Street Queensway and it moved to 200 Broad Street in March 2024.
Now it says it is making a £4 million move down the road, joining sister bar Eimear’s Irish Pub at number 240 Broad Street.

It will take over three rooms over two floors in the old Players Bar and work is currently underway to transform it for the new era, which boss Wayne Tracey says is ‘home at last’.
The businessman said that there was a ‘threat of redevelopment’ at the existing nightclub, which will continue to be a nightlife venue once Snobs moves.
It will be called 200, with Snobs staying in place until its scheduled relaunch on Thursday, September 17.
“After years of searching, we’ve finally found a permanent home for Snobs – and this time we’ve bought the whole building, creating a leisure experience that will change the landscape of Birmingham nightlife,” Wayne said.
“While building something fresh and exciting, we’re working hard to make sure it feels like the Snobs that we all know and love – from the first moment you walk down the stairs surrounded by the wall of faces, to dancing the night away by the original Snobs signs from Paradise Circus.”
Snobs says that the new venue will feature ‘state-of-the-art lighting installations, Funktion-One and Martin Audio sound systems, and a few relics from previous venues’.
Wayne said that the new design hearkens back to the old one, with revellers entering at street level, downstairs past the famous ‘wall of faces’ into the main room where Snobs DJs will spin ‘the classic indie hits the venue is known for’.
There’ll be a brand new lift installed to make the venue full accessible from Broad Street.
The two upstairs rooms will play ‘club and pop bangers to house and R&B anthems’ and the opening week will see the arrival of popular Birmingham club night Vodbull in the Mr Murals-designed space.
Vodbull will be up and running for Fresher’s Week and then will be a Thursday night mainstay thereafter.
Meanwhile, Rehab and Loaded clubnights will entertain every Friday and Saturday night respectively, from 10:30pm.
A brand new elevator has also been installed, making the venue fully accessible from street level.
“We really wanted to focus on the nightlife at our new permanent home, and I think that will be reflected in the final product,” Wayne added.
“Our other new venture Éimear’s Irish Pub is on the same site, so those looking to watch live sports or wanting an afternoon drink will be able to find all of that within the same venue. Snobs will once again be all about the nightlife.
“We are all really excited. It feels like Snobs is home at last.”
Snobs will remain open at its current location on 200 Broad Street, B15 1SU until the move on Thursday, September 17 when it’ll be at 240 Broad Street, B1 2HG.
