Next week marks the 25th anniversary of the war drama Band of Brothers, still one of HBO’s most celebrated miniseries, and they have now released a trailer for Band of Brothers: Legacy. It is a new documentary featuring interviews with the cast and crew as well as unreleased footage of the original interviews with Easy Company’s heroic veterans.
Released on September 9th, 2001, Band of Brothers followed the members of the 101st Airborne Division and Easy Company as they parachuted into Normandy on D-Day and fought their way through Europe in the last year of World War II. The series was produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks and adapted it from Stephen Ambrose’s book of the same name where he first interviewed Easy’s veterans.
The miniseries starred Damian Lewis, Ron Livingston, Michael Cudlitz, David Schwimmer, Donnie Wahlberg, Neal McDonough, Dexter Fletcher, James Madio, Dale Dye and many more. It is also known for its early roles to Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Simon Pegg, Tom Hardy, Jamie Bamber, Stephen Graham, Andrew Scott and others who would become bigger stars in their careers.
Band of Brothers: Legacy will feature Lewis, Livingston, Schwimmer, Cudlitz and more of their fellow castmates in new interviews examining the impact the series had and its enduring legacy. It will premiere appropriately enough next week on September 9th, 25 years to the day its premiered on HBO.

BAND OF BROTHERS: LEGACY serves as a tribute to the groundbreaking series that helped preserve the story of Easy Company and deepened public appreciation for the sacrifices of the Greatest Generation. The documentary features new interviews with BAND OF BROTHERS cast members including Damian Lewis, Ron Livingston, Michael Cudlitz, Capt. Dale Dye, USMC (Ret.), David Schwimmer, and more. Through personal reflections and behind-the-scenes stories, participants revisit the experience of making the series and explore its lasting cultural resonance. BAND OF BROTHERS: LEGACY also includes never-before-seen archival footage and photographs of Easy Company and World War II.
Band of Brothers: Legacy will premiere on September 9th.
