New York producer Saint Abdullah and Irish producer Eomac will release their new album ‘When The Sandbox Has No Edge’ on October 16th via Planet Mu.
Since 2020, the prolific duo have released four albums and an EP; ‘Patience of a Traitor’, ‘Chasing Stateless’, ‘Light Meteors’, ‘Crashing Around You Will Not Confuse You’ and ‘Of No Fixed Abode’.
With their new 17-track collection, the duo chart new heights. The record is rooted in hip hop and features a stellar cast of collaborators including Richie Culver and Armand Hammer. Elsewhere, Lester St. Louis plays cello and Che Chen of 75 Dollar Bill plays guitar.
The producer and sound designer Seraphim contributed textures and sound designs throughout, and samples from JME to Skinny Man to records pulled from charity shops and market stalls on road trips across the UK inform the record.
Most of the album was recorded between 2024 and 2025; Mehrabani set up in his daughter’s bedroom with two Roland SP-404s and a stack of Seraphim’s sound designs. What emerged from those sessions would travel to Wicklow, where Eomac shaped raw fragments into fully formed compositions.
With the album reveal comes a video for lead single, the fusion anthem ‘Cyphers Become Sifr’ featuring Abbas Zahedi. The rapper/poet riffs on the meaning of cypher – which also has multiple meanings across maths and religion.
