Hours after former Telangana Endowments Minister Konda Surekha was sacked from the Revanth Reddy cabinet, a social media message purportedly posted by her went viral, triggering speculation over her political future.
The Facebook message read: “The wait is almost over. A big update coming soon. Stay tuned, Telangana.”
The cryptic post quickly became a talking point on social media, with political circles closely watching Surekha’s next move.
The message also generated considerable curiosity in media circles, as her removal from the cabinet had already raised questions about her political future and whether she would continue with the Congress or move to another party.
This was despite Surekha having already clarified that she would continue as an MLA and remain in the Congress.
As the “big update” post went viral and was reportedly picked up by some news websites and television channels, Surekha quickly took to X to clarify that the message was fake.
She said the content being circulated in her name was not genuine and urged the media and the public to rely only on information published through her verified social media accounts.
“Greetings to our media friends. We would like to clarify that we have no connection with the news or posts being circulated in our name on various social media platforms. We have attached details of our official social media accounts below. We request media friends and the public to treat only information coming from these official accounts as authentic,” she said.
With Surekha now denying the viral post, the speculation over any immediate “big update” from her has been put to rest for the time being.
