Production has kicked off on Netflix’s upcoming Dan Brown adaptation series that’s set in the world of The Secret of Secrets – and we now have a first look at the drama.
Netflix has unveiled a shot of leading stars (and real-life married couple) Morgan Spector and Rebecca Hall as filming gets under way in Prague.
It was announced just a couple of months ago that The Gilded Age and Homeland star Spector would be leading the cast as Harvard professor Robert Langdon, with The Beauty and The Listeners actor Hall joining him as Katherine Solomon, whose relationship with Langdon also introduces a new dimension to the long-time character.
As per the series description: “The story follows symbologist Robert Langdon as he races against ancient forces – and the clock – to rescue a missing scientist and recover her groundbreaking manuscript, which contains discoveries that have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind.
“The adaptation will blend futuristic science with mystical lore, bringing the suspense, international intrigue, and history-spanning mysteries of Brown’s novels to the screen.”
While the new first-look picture doesn’t give too much away, it certainly sets the stage for quite the adventure and some beautiful European scenery.
Spector and Hall are set to be joined by the likes of Cherry Jones (Succession), Corey Stoll (Imperfect Women), Rob Delaney (Dying for Sex), Abbey Lee (Black Rabbit) and Mamoudou Athie (The Drama) in the series.
Other cast additions include Ben Levi Ross (Ragtime), Anamaria Marinca (Housekeeping For Beginners), Richard Sammel (Andor) and Elena Saurel (The Agency).

The series is currently untitled but is set to dig deep into Brown’s works and Langdon’s personal life, something fans will undoubtedly be excited about, seeing as he first appeared in Brown’s Angels & Demons and has gone on to feature in several other novels.
Brown is one of the co-creators of the series alongside Carlton Cuse, who is best known for his work on Lost as a joint showrunner and executive producer. He has also developed the likes of Bates Motel and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.
Cuse will be serving on this new series as showrunner, writer and executive producer, while Brown will also serve as an executive producer.

Cuse told Tudum: “The chance to work with Dan Brown to bring Langdon into a new chapter on screen is a genuine thrill. I was drawn in by the combination of exciting elements: it’s a propulsive thriller set in a fantastic location – Prague.
“It’s also a great love story, and a provocative exploration of human consciousness. The chance to tell a story that operated on so many different levels really excited me as a storyteller.”
A release date for the series hasn’t yet been confirmed but seeing as production is now under way, we can expect plenty of updates to come in due course.
