Warwickshire is home to a vast woodland playground that costs nothing to visit, yet many families have yet to discover it.
Woodland Adventures is a nature-inspired play area featuring zip wires, sunken trampolines, towering climbing frames and cargo nets perfect for clambering about on.
Located at The Belfry Hotel and Resort near Sutton Coldfield, you needn’t be a resident or have a golfer in tow to take full advantage of the facilities. And the best part is it’s just half an hour by car from Coventry.
The playground comprises three distinct zones – The Owls Roost, Hoppers Hollow and Squirrel Play – nestled within 550 acres of Warwickshire countryside.
Children are invited to ‘swoop and soar’ on slides and swings at The Owls Roost, while Hoppers Hollow offers trampolines and tunnels to explore, reports Birmingham Live.
Crafted using locally sourced materials, the attraction is said to draw inspiration from the native woodland wildlife found on the grounds.
Entry is completely free for youngsters, whether their families are staying overnight or simply popping in for a meal or daytime activities.
This summer, The Belfry has also introduced a beach and a WaveSurfer, giving families the chance to bodyboard and play in the sand (charges apply).
An ice-cream van and a host of activities, including Nerf gun battles, football darts and inflatable axe throwing, are available until today, 6 September 2026.
The Belfry also boasts three golf courses, an award-winning spa and several restaurants.
Gail Aldridge, marketing director at The Belfry, added: “The Woodland Adventure adds to an incredible list of child-friendly activities we host at the resort, providing families who stay with us with another free, outdoor activity to enjoy.
“We’re strong believers that you can’t beat a UK family holiday which is why we’ve made sure that every stay at The Belfry is a chance to create those cherished memories kids will never forget.”
