The second night of the Creative Awards Emmys are unfolding right now in Los Angeles.
The actual Emmys take place next Monday.
Rob Reiner won a posthumous Emmy for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy for “The Bear.”
So far, the big news is that “South Park” won Best Animated Series for its brilliant evisceration of Donald Trump. This was the series’ 27th season and it focused largely on Trump impregnating Satan, and took vicious swipes at everyone in the White House.
Pretty much anything anti-Trump is winning an Emmy this year. Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, each maligned by Trump, won last night. Bad Bunny picked up 7 awards for his Super Bowl half time show, largely because Trump went crazy attacking the performer, and the fact that the show would be in Spanish. It was good, yes, but 7 awards???
Other winners so far are Shailene Woodley for Best Guest Actress in a Drama, for “Pluribus.” Ernest Harden, Jr. won for Best Guest Actor in a Series, for “The Pitt.”
Julie Andrews broke her own record as the oldest Emmy winner ever for narrating “Bridgerton.”
David Harbour won Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for “DTF St Louis”
Linda Cardellini won Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series for “DTF St Louis”
Rob Reiner won Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy for “The Bear.”
Betty Gilpin – Best Supprt Guest Actress in a Comedy “Widow’s Bay.”
“The Pitt” won Best Song for “Need Someone.”
Outstanding Movie “Remarkably Bright Creatures,” the one with Sally Field and the Octopus
