Meghan Markle is set to reconnect with charities following her return to the UK with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The Duchess of Sussex reportedly plans to gradually resume her charitable efforts in the country as she settles into life there after six years away in Montecito, California.
Prince Harry and Meghan appear to be preparing to involve themselves heavily in charitable causes. At the same time, in the kingdom, the prince is also reported to be resuming a series of charitable activities in his homeland.
As the duchess plans her comeback to charity in the UK, she is reportedly expected to keep her initial activities off the public radar while the family readjusts to their new chapter.
According to The Sunday Times, Meghan is interested in “rekindling” connections with causes she previously supported but is also considering new charitable opportunities.
One such charity she plans to reconnect with is Smart Works, which she’s been working with since she married her husband in 2018.
The charity, as they explain on their official website, helps “unemployed women to get the coaching, clothing and confidence they need to secure employment and change the trajectory of their lives.”
Meghan’s involvement with the charity included the launch of a smart-set capsule collection in collaboration with major British fashion labels.
The duchess believed that it was her duty as a woman to “support and uplift each other, to champion each other as we aim to succeed, to not set each other up for failure.”
The charity has indicated that they remain pleased and “very excited” about welcoming Meghan back to the UK.
Smart Works Are Excited To Have The Duchess Present In The UK
Following news of the Duchess of Sussex’s return to the UK, Smart Works told Hello! Magazine via a representative that they are “very excited to welcome the Duchess and her family back to the UK.”
Meghan’s relationship with the charity is significant because they are one of the few British organizations the Duchess has maintained a connection with since stepping away from royal duties and moving to the United States.
According to the publication, Smart Works is the only UK charity Meghan still supports as patron.

Meghan reportedly stepped down from her role as patron of other charities, including Mayhew, an animal welfare charity.
However, the Duchess of Sussex continued to give support to the charity that is evidently so dear to her.
Smart Works focuses its efforts on helping women who are struggling with barriers to employment. Their work includes interview preparation support as well as providing appropriate clothing for job interviews.
While Meghan is likely to continue working with the charity, they report that they haven’t met with her since she returned to the UK.
Prince Harry Has His Own Charitable Commitments
While Meghan’s return to charity in the UK is meant to be a gradual process, Harry, on the other hand, has already revealed some of his first activities after arriving in his homeland.
People Magazine reported that the Duke of Sussex is preparing to jump out of a plane. Harry is expected to skydive as part of a charity involving military veterans.
The event is intended to raise money for military charities and fulfill an old promise made to a 102-year-old veteran of the Second World War.
Harry met up with the vet, Ed Marshall, and bonded over their military service and service to their communities.
The skydive for charity was brought up by Marshall and, according to the Sunnybrook Foundation, “the idea stuck, and together, they devised a plan for another jump.”
Harry maintains other links to causes connected with veterans and the military. Most notable is the Invictus Games, a sporting event meant for wounded and ailing military service members, which he founded in 2014.

Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain comes six years after they relinquished their duties as working royals and moved to the US.
The couple traveled to Britain with their Archie and Lilibet for an extended stay in the country and are expected to be setting up their new home in the Cotswolds while maintaining their Montecito property.
