As summer draws to a close, and the weather gets colder our minds turn to the next big occasion on the calendar- Halloween.
Terrifying decorations are flooding the shelves of shops, people are already organising their scary costumes, and others are planning on attending some spooktacular events. This includes Wales’ most spine-chilling trail, Scream Time which is returning to Margam Country Park this October.

Now in its third year, the high-intensity horror experience will feature two trails against the backdrop of the eerie estate. The spectacular venue boasts a striking gothic castle with a well-documented history of paranormal activity.
The trails will feature new routes within the gothic castle, through the graveyard and into the woodland. Guests will also have the opportunity to adventure through courtyards and hidden areas that usually remain closed to the public.
Each year the trail differs and guests anticipate the unexpected. They are set to encounter a host of frightening characters while experiencing jump scares, bone-chilling creeps, live performances and interactive games.
The intensely scary trail, Scream Time is exclusively for those 15+, while Spooky Time is the earlier, milder family-friendly trail for those aged 7+.
Fear not, should the experience become overwhelming at any point, visitors can use the safe word, prompting the actors to stand down.
In addition to the trail, on site there will also be a wealth of food and drink options, fairground rides and games, and the Scarecrow Scare Village offers younger visitors the chance to toast marshmallows and enjoy activities.

“The unique setting of the park, with its gothic castle, historic grounds and well-known ghostly tales, makes it the perfect place for a spine-tingling Halloween experience.
“We are delighted to welcome visitors to Margam Country Park this autumn and encourage everyone to dust off their broomsticks, summon their courage and experience what promises to be a truly brilliant event. Just be prepared, because this year’s scares are sure to raise a few spirits.”
