Six Nottinghamshire restaurants named best in Britain for their delicious kebabs

The winners are decided by public vote

Six restaurants in and around Nottingham have been named semi-finalists in the British Kebab Awards.

Now in their 15th year, the awards celebrate one of the nation’s favourite dishes. The businesses were chosen from thousands of public nominations.

The contenders, in five different categories, are:

• Temola Turkish Cuisine, Forman Street, Nottingham (best restaurant, north of England)
• Istanbul Bar & Grill, High Street, Arnold (best restaurant, north of England)
• Yamas, Thurland Street, Nottingham (best Greek restaurant)
• Anatolian Palace, Redfield Way, Nottingham (best takeaway, north of England)
• Marmaris Turkish Restaurant, Alfreton Road, Radford (best value restaurant)
• Alaturka Meze Mangal, Compton Acres Shopping Centre, West Bridgford (customer satisfaction)

The awards have grown from a single dinner into one of the most established dates on the Westminster and hospitality calendar.

The full national shortlist of 500 semi-finalists was revealed at the awards’ Parliamentary Reception at Speaker’s House, hosted by the Speaker of the House of Commons.

The winners, decided by public vote, will be revealed at a gala night on February 23, 2027, at Park Plaza Westminster in London.

Ibrahim Doğuş, founder of the British Kebab Awards, said: “Reaching our semi-finals is a genuine achievement, and in our milestone 15th year, it is a proud moment for Nottingham and the hard-working families behind these businesses, who are part of the fabric of their communities.”

Industry estimates value the UK kebab sector at around £2.8 billion a year, supporting some 200,000 jobs across more than 20,000 outlets and serving 1.3 million kebabs a day — the nation’s fourth most popular takeaway.
