Earlier this year, Empire‘s own Alex Godfrey went to see Christopher Nolan sci-fi epic Interstellar live in concert at The Royal Albert Hall. The experience, as he wrote at the time, left him weeping uncontrollably. And on Sunday, 23 May, 2027 you too can weep uncontrollably if you’re lucky, as Cutting Edge Group Presents and City Light Concerts have announced that Interstellar Live is heading to The O2, London, bringing with it the full 65-piece Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and a big screen experience befitting of Nolan’ tearjerking blockbuster.
Set for two performances only — one matinée, one evening show — Interstellar Live, conducted by Hans Zimmer conductor Matt Dunkley and featuring the original soundtrack’s organist Roger Sayer, is already shaping up to be a must-see for Nolanheads and Zimmerphiles alike. And with it being a one night — or, technically, one night and one day — only affair, fans looking to follow Matthew McConaughey’s pilot-turned-farmer-turned-pilot-again Coop and his team of explorers into deep space once again can expect a Mann vs Coop worthy tussle for tickets to this arena-scale space odyssey.
Tickets for Interstellar Live officially go on public sale this Friday, 11 September, at 10am BST (more details on that one are available at MyTickets), but there are a couple of opportunities to bag seats early, too. For anyone with an O2 account, O2 Priority presale kicks off at 10am on 9 September, while the venue presale gets underway on 10 September, again at 10am.
