Furious is the newest series by Elizabeth Meriwether who famously created and wrote New Girl. This latest endeavour strays away from comedy and instead steps into the crime drama territory. The Hulu show Alice Black (Emmy Rossum), an FBI agent who is looking for a mysterious and dangerous female serial killer. In order to do so, she works with Nora Washington (Quincy Tyler Bernstine), the head of the FBI’s sex crimes unit, and Danny Kelly (Scoot McNairy), her friend and former partner in the NYPD. Steve Way is also part of the cast as Alden, a client of a home care aid.
We got to sit down with three cast members, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Scoot McNairy, and Steve Way, to talk about their respective characters in the show, their careers and how they influenced their acting in this show, and their experience working on Furious. “We are a family […] everyone has each other’s backs, and we trusted each other,” Steve Way said when talking about the bond between the actors behind the camera.
We also talked about Elizabeth Meriwether and how it is refreshing to see such a story told from a female perspective, both in terms of the character and the creative team behind Furious. “There is an appetite for seeing more things that put women in the centre,” Quincy Bernstine shared on the matter.
