Media reports have repeatedly suggested that Prabhas’ Fauji has been facing delays, particularly with its shooting schedule.
GreatAndhra had also earlier reported that Prabhas had shifted his focus to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and had asked director Hanu Raghavapudi to come up with a concrete shooting plan for Fauji. However, the makers denied those reports at the time.
More recently, Mythri Movie Makers reconfirmed Fauji for a December 3, 2026 release.
Producer Y Ravi Shankar also stated at several film events that Prabhas was personally monitoring the film’s progress and that it would arrive on the announced date without fail.
However, the situation has now changed.
Fauji has reportedly been postponed, and the December 3 release date has been dropped.
The makers are said to have realised that completing both the production and post-production work by December would not be possible, prompting them to move the film out of the year-end slot.
With Fauji vacating the date, Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma and Dulquer Salmaan’s Sri Sri have now locked the same weekend. Vrushakarma is scheduled to release on December 3, while Sri Sri will arrive on December 4.
According to industry insiders, Fauji is now targeting a summer 2027 release. An official announcement regarding the new release date is expected from the makers.
The postponement could also affect the release plans of Prabhas’ other upcoming films, including Spirit, as his projects are believed to have interconnected shooting and release schedules.
