Glastonbury has confirmed its new ticket price for the 2027 festival – and fans are not happy.
After taking a fallow year in 2026, organisers have confirmed that tickets for the iconic festival at Worthy Farm will go on sale in October.
The festival, organised by Emily Eavis, is already the UK’s most expensive festival, and now, that gap has widened even further.

When is Glastonbury 2027?
The next edition of the Somerset music festival will take place from Wednesday, June 23, to Sunday, June 27, 2027, after a break this year to allow the land at Worthy Farm to recover.
The festival, which has been running since 1970, traditionally takes place at the end of June.

How much are tickets for next year’s edition?
A full weekend pass running from Wednesday to Sunday will cost £408 – including a £5 booking fee.
It is a £29.50 increase on 2025’s £378.50 general admission ticket.
Glastonbury has been declared the UK’s most expensive music festival for some time now, but the 2027 edition will be the first time tickets have surpassed the £400 barrier.

How much have tickets cost previously?
Tickets for the first edition of the festival held by Michael Eavis back in 1970 cost just £1 (equivalent to £13.80 today).
They surpassed the £100 barrier back in 2003, in an edition that was headlined by R.E.M, Radiohead and Moby.
In 2022, a weekend ticket cost £280 plus a £5 booking fee, however, just five years later, this has surged to over £130 difference.
Many fans were left unimpressed with the increase: “This does make me consider the price for the first time, that’s a lot even for Glasto,” said one, whilst another added: “All that money to see a dot on a stage.”

However, others were resolute they would attend despite the hike “It’s worth every penny for what you get.”
“It’s only a shock because it wasn’t on this year, if it had been £15 a year no one would have blinked,” another wrote.
What have festival organisers said about the increase?
While Emily Eavis is yet to comment on the latest announcement, she has previously discussed the “challenging” time that festival planners are facing.
Speaking in 2023, she said: “We have tried very hard to minimise the increase in price on the ticket but we’re facing enormous rises in the costs of running this vast show, whilst still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival because of Covid.”

When will tickets go on sale?
Tickets with coach travel options will go on sale at 6pm on October 1, while general admission tickets will go on sale at 9am on October 4.
As part of an ongoing campaign to stop touts, anyone wanting to attend the festival had to be registered in advance.
This year, the registration window closes at 5pm on September 25. If you have previously registered for years prior, make sure it is still valid.
Who could be headlining next year?
Rumoured headliners for next year’s Glastonbury include Stevie Wonder, Fontaines DC, Taylor Swift, and Harry Styles – although no headliner has yet been confirmed.

Madonna was another hotly tipped performer, however Emily Eavis has shut down any speculation that the pop icon could be headlining at Worthy Farm next year.
“No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that,” she told BBC Radio 4’s PM programme.
“But we have got three [other] headliners and we’re very excited about it – it’s all coming together really well,” she added.
