
“Varanasi”, the much-awaited collaboration between Mahesh Babu and director S.S. Rajamouli, has been generating considerable hype ever since its first glimpse was released. The film is expected to target the global market, with Rajamouli’s international recognition adding to the expectations surrounding the project.
Rajamouli is said to be following a meticulous shooting plan, and the film is now nearing completion. Speaking to a media outlet, the director revealed that around 90 percent of the shooting has already been completed and that the final portion is currently underway. He added that the entire shoot is expected to be wrapped up by the end of this month.
Rajamouli also said he will shift his focus to post-production from mid-October or November. His brother and Oscar-winning music composer M.M. Keeravani is expected to begin work on the background score later this month.
“Varanasi” is scheduled for release on April 7, 2027. With the shooting now nearing completion, the team appears to be well on track for the announced release date.
Priyanka Chopra plays the female lead, while Prithviraj Sukumaran is the main antagonist.
