EPIC First Report: Bold Content, Weak Payoff

EPIC First Report: Bold Content, Weak Payoff

The much-anticipated EPIC – First Semester, starring Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, has hit the screens with premiere shows. The film marks the directorial debut of Aditya Haasan, who gained popularity with the web series 90’s.

Initial audience reactions are mixed. According to early public talk, while some viewers found the film engaging, others felt it was lethargic and lacked a proper ending.

The initial UK college portions, the youthful romance between Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, and the fun moments surrounding their first physical intimacy are said to be among the more engaging parts of the film.

The songs and the colourful UK setting are among the other aspects that have received a positive response from audiences.

However, the middle portions appear to be the major concern. Some viewers have found certain developments unconvincing, while the second half is being described as uneven and leaving a sense of incompleteness.

The film also reportedly contains several bold moments beyond just kissing scenes. Discussions around sex, periods and pregnancy, along with intimate sequences, provide entertainment for some viewers, while others feel that a few situations defy logic and could have been handled more sensibly.

Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya once again appear to share good chemistry, but the lack of a strong conflict and an unfinished-feeling ending seem to be the film’s major challenges.

So far, the overall talk for EPIC – First Semester is mixed.

Stay tuned for the detailed review.
