New Delhi: A lawyer allegedly opened fire at his 48-year-old neighbour using his father’s licensed revolver in northeast Delhi’s Johri Pur area, police said. The accused, identified as Neeraj, later allegedly shot himself and died.
According to police, Neeraj fired four rounds at his neighbour Rajwati in the Gokulpuri area. One of the bullets hit Rajwati’s leg. She was injured in the incident.
Neeraj later allegedly shot himself and died. Senior police officials reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. The circumstances that led to the firing are being ascertained.
Five Rounds Fired Near Restaurant Bar In Anand Vihar
Meanwhile, another firing incident was reported near a restaurant bar in the Anand Vihar police station area of Shahdara district.
According to Delhi Police, five rounds were fired in the area. Police have registered a case and are trying to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage.
The investigation is underway and further details are awaited.
NDMC Engineer Arrested For Firing In Air
Earlier, Delhi Police arrested a 29-year-old junior engineer working on an NDMC project for allegedly firing shots in the air in the early hours of Thursday in Rajender Nagar.
Police said the accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he fired in the air. The junior engineer was arrested in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway.
