Oasis have officially confirmed they will be embarking on a tour in 2027, marking the announcement with a spectacular drone light display projected above Manchester’s Etihad Stadium late last night. The band’s iconic black and white logo illuminated the Manchester skyline at 11pm.
The breathtaking drone spectacle stretched 120m – the equivalent of a football pitch – and launched from the ground of Man City’s women’s team, the Joie Stadium. It soared above the arena, adjacent to the Etihad Stadium, leaving onlookers and passing motorists utterly transfixed for a full ten minutes before gradually disappearing into the night.

Each teaser contained clues pointing to a different city or venue, leading many to conclude that a full 2027 tour announcement was just around the corner.
In what amounts to the first official confirmation of the band’s plans, the skies above the Etihad Stadium were emblazoned with the group’s legendary emblem bearing the single word: “Oasis“, followed by the date 14.9.26 at 4pm BST.
The display unfolded just as thousands of rock fans were streaming out of the neighbouring Co-op Live arena following an Evanescence concert.
The stunning spectacle was visible across Manchester, with fans rapidly sharing footage on social media as the realisation dawned that Oasis Live 2027 is genuinely happening, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The selection of the Etihad Campus for the light display provides confirmation that it will appear on their tour itinerary. As the MEN disclosed earlier this year, the Gallagher brothers have been planning an extensive residency at their cherished Manchester City ground for quite some time as part of a much-anticipated world tour.
Music industry insiders informed the MEN back in July that Oasis were arranging up to 12 nights at the Etihad Stadium, alongside a spectacular comeback to Knebworth Park for a record-shattering series of performances. Yet the band’s initial teaser strongly hinted that Glasgow’s Celtic Park would host the opening concerts next summer.
This was quickly followed by a teaser clip showing two youngsters playing football, featuring a blue moon image in a window frame, and the number 11 chalked onto the wall as a goal count – before one child netted another making it 12.
This prompted numerous fans to suspect it was signalling that the major Etihad Stadium residency would encompass up to 11 gigs during the epic live comeback next year.
Additional cities and venues expected to feature on the 2027 tour based on the video teasers include Munich, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris and Rome. Supporters are also speculating that an American leg for gigs will include Boston and Las Vegas.

The illuminated spectacle on Thursday evening revealed that the complete announcement will arrive on Monday, September 14. It’s poised to trigger an almighty Ticketmaster frenzy, judging by the chaos surrounding the previous tour.
Supporters have been holding out ever since the conclusion of the 2025 comeback tour for word of a sequel, so the confirmation that 2027 is when it will materialise is welcome news for devotees.
The spectacular light show follows a whirlwind return to the spotlight since early September for Liam, Noel and their fellow Oasis band members. The Burnage siblings travelled to Venice over the weekend, where they received a ten-minute standing ovation following the world premiere of the new Disney+ documentary film, Don’t Look Back in Anger, chronicling their 2025 reunion.
They subsequently flew back to the UK to attend the London film premiere, alongside fellow founder member Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs and musicians from the 2025 tour, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Christian Madden.
They were also accompanied by numerous celebrity admirers from the television and sporting worlds, as well as Liam and Noel’s children, who the film disclosed have all become the closest of friends since the brothers mended their longstanding feud.
The film arrived in select cinemas on Wednesday, ahead of a wider global release on Friday. It will subsequently become available on the Disney+ streaming service at a date yet to be confirmed.
