A pub has reopened following a five-week closure for a £250,000 revamp. Owners Punch Pubs & Co invested the sum for improvements at the Keyworth Tavern, on the corner of Fairway, in Keyworth.
During the makeover of the 1960’s pub, the underused dining area has been repurposed to create more space for drinkers.
As part of the refurbishment work, the old bar has been remodelled and improved, a new darts area has been added, and the walls and floors have been refreshed throughout.
The pub, in the heart of the village, continues to be led by existing management partner, John Francis, who is originally from Keyworth.
He took over the pub a year ago and is excited about the transformation. He said: “I believe the refurbishment will make a real difference to our guests’ experience of the pub. Already, I have received so much great feedback.”
John will continue to focus his efforts on expanding the pub’s social calendar and prioritising his beloved cask ales.
He added: “We offer a weekly quiz every Thursday, weekend entertainment and our quarterly beer festivals that attract large numbers of fellow cask ale connoisseurs, like me.”
