Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam Party president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao on Friday clarified that there was absolutely no discontent among local party leaders over the induction of Majji Srinivasa Rao, popularly known as Chinna Srinu and nephew of senior YSRCP leader and former minister Botsa Satyanarayana, into the TDP.
Speaking to reporters, Palla said Chinna Srinu, who hails from Vizianagaram district, was admitted into the TDP only after obtaining the consent of the local party leadership.
He made it clear that the views of the local leadership would be taken into consideration whenever leaders or political workers from other parties sought to join the TDP.
Palla also stressed that everyone joining the TDP would have to work in accordance with the party’s ideology and decisions.
“The sea does not invite rivers to join it; it is the rivers that have to merge into the sea,” he said, indicating that those entering the TDP would have to align themselves with the party’s ideology and organisational structure.
At the same time, Palla accused the YSRCP of attempting to undermine the unity of the NDA alliance comprising the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP.
He alleged that the YSRCP was trying to create differences among the alliance partners because it was unable to tolerate the growing public support for the coalition government.
Palla further alleged that fake social media accounts were being created in the names of alliance leaders and workers and were being used to make personal attacks and abusive comments against leaders belonging to other alliance partners.
He advised TDP cadres not to react immediately to every post appearing on social media without verifying its authenticity.
If any objectionable remarks were made by a leader belonging to any of the alliance parties, TDP workers should bring the matter to the attention of the party leadership instead of responding directly on social media, he said.
Palla cautioned alliance leaders and cadres against falling prey to such social media campaigns and urged them to exercise restraint in order to protect the unity of the coalition.
