The company has put out a notice to shoppers over an item that has been recalled
A children’s book sold in TK Maxx stores is being recalled as it poses a ‘potential choking hazard’. A recall for the Make Believe Ideas Ltd Groovy Baby ‘I Spy a Fly!’ board book was issued this month by the retailer.
This is because the fly’s wings on the last page of the book may in some instances detach from the book when pulled, causing a potential choking hazard. The product recall relates to any of these books sold in TK Maxx stores between September 2024 and August this year.
The item number for the product is 9781836422600, and if you have purchased this book customers have been told to stop using it immediately. They can then return it to any TK Maxx store where they can either receive a full refund or replacement product.
In the recall release, TK Maxx wrote: “Spread the news! Tell your friends and family about this recall.” On the Make Believe Ideas website, the company have also issued advice about what to do if you have bought one of these books, in their own recall.
The Make Believe Ideas website said: “Pull the wings off the last page of the book and cut each wing into four pieces. Take a photo of the 16 pieces, on or adjacent to the last page of the book, before disposing of the wings in a bin that is inaccessible to children. Removing the wings from the book removes this potential hazard.”
The company have also issued a recall on its ‘I Spy a Fly!’ board book with the following ISBN-13 numbers too: 9781836422594, 9788384253960 and 9781836427131.
