This Morning guest left speechless live on air as wrestling item worth thousands

This Morning aired its Trash or Treasure segment with expert Dan Hatfield on Tuesday’s show

The This Morning presenters were left floored on Tuesday’s show.

During the latest installment, the ITV chat show aired its Trash or Treasure segment with expert Dan Hatfield. The segment sees viewers ring up, asking Dan whether their items could be worth a fortune or not.

On Tuesday, Dan heard from guest Malcolm who rang in about a wrestling item. The guest said: “So, I’ve been collecting figures for the last 20 years, and I recently traded a figure for a drawing.

“I haven’t really had drawings before, so I have this drawing, not really sure on the valuation, and I was hoping Dan could maybe give me a valuation on this drawing.”

Dan was left excited over the item, exclaiming: “Well, let me step in there, because that is very exciting. So, this is World Wrestling Federation, WWF, Hasbro design. You don’t often see these.

“So, basically, this was the toy that never existed, and that is why it is worth so much money, because Hasbro and WWF parted ways before Series 12 could be released. To me and you, it just looks like a drawing, doesn’t it?”

It was then time for the valuation with an excited Dan revealing: “Guys, this is worth, because it is so special, this is worth £6,000 to £10,000!”

The valuation left Malcolm, as well as This Morning hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, floored. Malcolm said: “What? Wow!”

He explained over how he came into acquisition of the item: “I just traded another figure I had. The figure was worth about £2,000, so I swapped it, so it definitely increased the value.”

An excited Cat, 49, declared: “You are winning, Malcolm!” while Ben, 51, added: “Because interestingly, it’s not WWF anymore either. They had to change their name too, to the WWE, and so there’s been a big shift, so this is proper heritage.”

With Dan pointing out: “This is 90s history right here! And do you know what? Before we move on, I want to give you a round of applause, because that is a fabulous find! That’s amazing!”

Malcolm said of the discovery: “Yeah, brilliant, it’s great timing as well. We’re about to have another baby, my wife and I, so maybe just have to sell it. Yeah, that’s great timing, great news!”

This Morning continues on weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVX.
