The BCCI has announced the 15-member T20I squad for the West Indies series. There was no return for Hardik Pandya, who hasn’t played international cricket since the 2026 T20 World Cup final. Pandya will instead play for India A in the three-match unofficial one-day series against Australia A. He was already named in the India A squad, but could have been named in the T20I team for the last two games after proving his fitness in the series opener.
Panya suffered an injury after IPL 2026 and missed the Afghanistan series that followed. He was also ruled out of the series against Ireland and England. He has been working on his fitness at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence for many weeks and will make his return for India A.
Kuldeep Yadav, who isn’t part of the Asian Games team, has made his return along with Prince Yadav and Mayank Yadav. Prince and Mayank too weren’t named in the Asian Games team.
Harshit Rana, who suffered another injury after making his return, continues to be on the sidelines. He made his return from a knee injury during the UK tour, but his comeback lasted only five games.
Earlier in 2026, he was ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to a knee injury. It also ruled him out of IPL 2026. The three T20Is will be played on October 6, 9 and 11.
India have made a couple of changes to the Asian Games squad. Vipraj Nigam has replaced an injured Varun Chakaravarthy while Nitish Kumar Reddy has been withdrawn. He will instead play in the ODI series against West Indies.
