The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max went on sale at the Apple Store in St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff at the same time as it was released across the world today, Friday September 18.
The Apple store opened an hour and a half early for the release and there had already been a queue for over an hour by the time they were allowed in to buy the new models, which start at £1,199.

Prices vary for the two new phones ranging from £1,199 to £2,499 depending on the model and how much storage space users choose to have.
Rhys from Porthcawl headed down to the Cardiff store at 7.45am but without a reservation he was told to return to the store at 9.30am for a chance to buy one of the new products.
Rhys bought the iPhone 18 Pro Max, 512GB for £1,500 on Friday which he said is “quite expensive”. He said: “I’ve waited all summer for an upgrade, my old phone didn’t work anymore so I had to come down on the first day. I’ve had my last phone since May 2022 so I’ve got the new generation because when I go to resell it in a few years at least it will be the new generation then.”
Another highly anticipated release for Apple is the launch of its first foldable design with the iPhone Duo. Pre-order is available for the new design from 1pm on October 16 with the official release date revealed as October 23.
The iPhone Duo has the larges display screen of any iPhone with a thin, foldable design for convenience as well as a dual-battery system that is said to last all day.
