Round the Twist was a staple show for most children who grew up in the nineties, but whatever happened to its child stars?
Most of the child actors from Round the Twist are leading very different lives 36 years after finding fame.
The Australian children’s comedy debuted in 1990 and released four seasons, before coming to an end in 2001. It followed the supernatural adventures of the Twist family, who ditch their traditional home to live in an eccentric lighthouse.
Fans across the nation can probably still recite its iconic theme tune: “Have you ever, ever felt like this? How strange things happen, are you going round the twist?” Viewers can now revisit the catchy song and the whole series on ITVX, where it is currently available to stream.
But whatever happened to the children who brought the beloved show to life, and where are they today?
Tamsin West as Linda Twist
Tamsin was one of three actresses who played teenager Linda Twist, and impressively performed the show’s iconic opening tune.
She went on to appear in hit drama Neighbours, as well as Janus and Blue Heelers. But the child celebrity, now aged 52, left her acting career behind in 1995.
The role of Linda was played by Tamsin role in series one, was Joelene Crnogorac in series two and Ebonnie Masini in series three and four.
Joelene Crnogorac
Joelene stepped in to play Linda in season two, but left after just one series. Although her time on the Australian drama was short-lived, she has remained in the film and television industry.
She recently directed the 2020 comedy series All the Way to The Top, which is described as Sex and the City meets Entourage. It follows young actresses trying to find their feet in Hollywood.
Ebonnie Masini
Ebonnie was the third and final actor to play Linda, stepping into the role for both seasons three and four. She went on to enjoy a few roles in TV dramas including Blue Heelers and Shock Jock.
But her last acting role was in 2002, according to IMDb. These days Ebonnie runs an art brand called Masini, which sells original paintings and limited edition prints.
Sam Vandenberg as Pete Twist
Linda’s twin brother Pete was portrayed by Sam Vandenberg. Just like his co-stars, Sam had some minor roles after Round the Twist, including a part in Blue Heelers.
He appears to have left acting behind, although he is reportedly still entertaining audiences as a singer. Fans will remember that Sam left the show after one season, with Ben Thomas taking over as Pete in season two, before Rian McLean played the role in the final two series.
Jeffrey Walker as Bronson Twist
The youngest Twist brother, Bronson, was just eight years old on the show. He was originally played by Rodney McLennan, who has since completely disappeared from the spotlight.
Jeffrey Walker, 44, then took over the part in season two and went on to build an impressive career. The Australia-born celebrity is now an accomplished director, having worked on huge shows like Netflix’s Apple Cider Vinegar.
His credits also include Modern Family, The Artful Dodger and Lambs of God.
