A funnel cloud was spotted over northern Davis County, Utah, as severe weather moved through areas north of Salt Lake City on Friday, September 18, 2026.
The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City issued a tornado warning for parts of Weber, Davis and Morgan counties, including Layton, Kaysville and Farmington.
The warning was set to expire at 2:15 p.m. MDT, according to the weather service.
Golf Ball-Sized Hail Reported In North Farmington
The National Weather Service Salt Lake City office said a funnel cloud had been observed with the storm over northern Davis County.
North Farmington also reported golf ball-sized hail about five minutes before the warning update.
At 2:07 p.m. MDT, the weather service said the storm that prompted the tornado warning had moved out of the area. The tornado warning was allowed to expire at 2:15 p.m. MDT.
However, a severe thunderstorm warning remained in effect for west-central Morgan County and south-central Weber County.
The National Weather Service urged residents to remain aware of the ongoing severe weather threat.
