Prince Harry ‘Rediscovered Something He Had Been Missing’ at Invictus Event

As everyone knows by now, Prince Harry is back in England, and he’s also back to doing work for the upcoming Invictus Games in Birmingham, which are taking place in 2027.

The Duke of Sussex attended the Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner and Awards at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, on Sept. 17, marking his first public engagement in the U.K. since moving back. An expert noticed how elated Harry looked to be there, comparing him to an “excitable puppy.”

Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. Speaking on behalf of BetfairCasino, Stanton told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Harry looked ecstatic. He was incredibly animated, energetic, and really seemed to be in his element. There was a real sense of happiness in his facial expressions and his overall demeanour, and what stood out to me most was just how comfortable he appeared to be. There is a real sense of happiness.

“We saw a lot of smiling, very animated movements, and an incredible amount of energy. He was almost racing from one place to another, and there was a real sense of excitement in the way he was interacting with people. His posture was open and relaxed, and we saw those open-palm gestures when he was shaking hands and engaging with people. There was nothing guarded or defensive about his body language.”

The expert continued, “It almost felt as though he had never been away. He seemed to slot straight back into the environment, particularly when he was meeting members of the public. The people he was interacting with also appeared very happy to see him, and that seemed to feed into Harry’s own energy. There was a real sense of mutual enthusiasm in those interactions.

“I think that’s why his body language was so interesting. He looked like somebody who had genuinely missed this environment and missed being this version of himself. When he’s involved with Invictus or his own projects, we often see a very different side to him. Here, there was a real sense of excitement; he was like an excitable puppy, racing ahead and full of energy. There is nothing guarded or defensive about it.”

Stanton concluded, “Harry looked like someone who had rediscovered something he had been missing. He appeared completely at home, incredibly animated and very comfortable interacting with people again. It was almost as though he had simply stepped back into a role and an environment that felt very natural to him.”
