Carrot Top has been hospitalized.
The 61-year-old comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, was reportedly rushed to the hospital in Las Vegas on Friday night (September 18) following a suicide attempt, according to TMZ.
Carrot Top had a Friday night show scheduled at the Luxor in Las Vegas, where he has been a longtime performer, but it was canceled as a result.
In a statement shared with the outlet, his rep said, “Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.”
Carrot Top is a stand-up comedian best known for his usage of props in his routine. He had his breakout on Comic Strip Live in the early 1990s and appeared on Star Search. In 2008 he was a guest judge on Last Comic Standing. he even had a guest-starring role on the HBO series Hacks in 2024.
Throughout the years, he has mostly appeared as himself in various reality television series and documentaries.
