Knowsley Safari Park is just a 45 minute drive from Manchester, and a great day out for families, couples and friends

With autumn and winter quickly approaching, many families will soon run out of time to enjoy the settled weather before temperatures drop significantly. Fortunately, you can have one last hurrah for this summer by snagging a full safari trip for slightly over £1.

Wowcher is currently offering general admission tickets to Knowsley Safari at a discount, dropping from £27.50 to £16.50 on select dates throughout September and October. The popular North West safari location provides the opportunity for famillies to get close to hundreds of different animals.

If families opt to take advantage of a cashback deal, they could get their hands on the general admission tickets for just £1.09, as long as they’re new to signing up to TopCashback. Unfortunately, those who are already signed up to the cashback platform will miss out on the deal, instead being offered the tickets for £16.09 after cashback has been applied.

Knowsley Safari is situated in Prescot, Merseyside and houses over 700 different animals, including lions, rhinos, bison, baboons, giraffes, meerkats, tigers, and more. With the Foot Safari, visitors have the opportunity to take the Tiger Trail, where they have the chance of spotting Amur tigers.

All of the general admission tickets on offer are valid for both adults and children and have the added benefit of providing access to all activities and rides available on your chosen day. It also provides an educational opportunity for children, with live animal talks and presentations available.

However, if you would rather spend the day somewhere else, you could opt to visit Chester Zoo, which is offering tickets for four groups of four from £99. These advance tickets allow you to secure a place and ensure you get to see everything the zoo has to offer.

Otherwise, you could visit Blackpool Zoo for as low as £21.99 per adult when booked online. Blackpool Zoo has over 1,000 animals in its care, including meerkats, Brazilian tapir, monkeys, and more.

Visitors who have previously gone to Knowsley Safari had plenty of praise for their experience, with one writing: “This place is absolutely brilliant, sealion show absolutely amazing with knowledgeable staff Baboon bus was absolutely amazing, walking safari was brilliant to lots of animals, well looked after we travelled over 100 miles and it was well worth it.”

Another added: “I have made several safaris in South Africa and this experience matches it on a hot sunny day. The only difference is the animals look happy and very healthy. A brilliant day was had by all and is one of the best experiences I have had in the UK”

A third said: “If you’ve been to a safari park in France you will know how good it can be and for this place just give it a chance. We went on a wet day with disabled daughter and used our French experiences. Just take your time on the safari and hover regularly. Given the chance, animals may even cross the road in front of you. We didn’t use binoculars and saw pretty well everything but don’t be afraid to use binoculars or zoom on your phone. camera.”

A fourth added: “We visited yesterday with my 8 yr old daughter and she absolutely loved every minute! The monkeys were hilarious and my daughter to great pleasure in watching them jump around. We were particularly impressed with the level of knowledge and professionalism from the team leading the birds of prey talk at 3:30pm and sea lion talk at 4:30pm. Well done all. We will be back!”

However, one less pleased visitor wrote: “Very disappointed if you like different types of deer you will be happy because that’s about all they’ve got. Rhino about 8 of those a few lions which were in an enclosure with out proper gates were the young female guard was standing in the open.”

Another added: “Wow! What a disappointment. Been looking forward to going here for a while. But to be honest it’s a deer park with a few other animals thrown in. The rhinos were lovely to see, and the lions were fine, but that was about it.”
