The release plans for “Vishwambhara” appear to be taking shape, with the latest buzz in Film Nagar suggesting that Chiranjeevi has agreed to give the film first preference for Sankranthi 2027.
Although “Vishwambhara” was launched nearly three years ago, the film has been delayed for various reasons, including the extensive visual effects work and the OTT deal. With the digital deal reportedly now closed, producers Vamsi, Vikram Reddy and Pradeep are said to have approached Chiranjeevi to bring the film to theatres during Sankranthi 2027.
The Sankranthi race, however, already has competition.
The team of “Kaaka”, directed by Bobby and produced by KVN Productions, recently took to social media to state that the film will arrive on January 13, 2027. The team also urged fans and audiences not to believe reports suggesting that the film would vacate the Sankranthi slot.
Despite this, industry sources indicate that “Vishwambhara” is likely to arrive ahead of “Kaaka”, with Chiranjeevi reportedly agreeing to the producers’ request.
The exact release date is yet to be locked. If “Vishwambhara” does take the Sankranthi slot, the festival season could see an interesting clash between two major Telugu releases.
