Megastar Eyes World’s Biggest Cinema Screen in Hyderabad

After Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun, Asian Cinemas is now reportedly joining hands with Megastar Chiranjeevi for a major cinema venture in Hyderabad.

The proposed project is said to be planned at a premium location in the Financial District and could feature what is being touted as one of the world’s largest operating cinema screens.

With Hyderabad fast emerging as one of India’s major cinema hubs, the venture is expected to offer a premium movie-watching experience equipped with advanced projection technology, luxury seating and high-end facilities.

The theatre chain could reportedly be branded as Asian Chiranjeevi Cinemas (ACC) or Asian Megastar Cinemas (AMC), though the final name is yet to be confirmed.

At present, Traumpalast Leonberg in Germany holds the Guinness World Record for the largest permanent IMAX cinema screen.

The screen measures around 127 feet wide and 69 feet tall, covering approximately 8,770 square feet. The auditorium reportedly accommodates 574 recliner seats and is equipped with IMAX dual-laser projection.

If the Hyderabad project materialises as reported, Asian Cinemas and Chiranjeevi could be aiming to challenge that benchmark and create a new landmark destination for movie lovers in the city.

On the work front, Chiranjeevi is awaiting the release of Kaaka and Vishwambhara next year. He is also set to collaborate with director Srikanth Odela for an upcoming project.
