21 Censor Cuts For The Paradise

Nani’s The Paradise has cleared the CBFC with an A certificate and a final runtime of 174 minutes and four seconds. Certificate DIL/3/44/2026-HYD, issued by the Hyderabad regional office on September 21, lists 21 insertions, deletions and modifications ahead of the film’s September 24 theatrical release.

The mandated changes target several sensitive elements, including violence, profanity and political references. A disclaimer was added, crow imagery on the national flag was replaced, a dialogue was removed, foul language was muted, a tattoo was altered, and references to a denotified tribe, assassination, armed struggle and fictionalised history were modified.

Several violent sequences were shortened or altered, including stabbing, bloodshed and torture scenes at multiple timestamps. Smoking warnings were added, cigarette brand references were muted or deleted, a politician’s name was removed from subtitles, and a newspaper reference was changed to “Nagaramlo,” with specific place names covered through visual effects.

Directed by Srikanth Odela, The Paradise stars Nani alongside Raghav Juyal, Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar and Sonali Kulkarni. Set against 1980s Secunderabad and inspired partly by real incidents witnessed by Odela, the film explores a marginalised community’s struggle, with its A certificate reflecting its intense action and mature themes.
