Many places in Merseyside offer pumpkin picking experiences

Pumpkin picking season is fast approaching, with many farms in Merseyside offering experiences and an autumnal day out all in one, perfect for families thinking about getting into the Halloween spirit.
Pumpkin patches are also a great way to pick your perfect pumpkin for the front of your house, to carve with an intricate, humorous or spooky design, even better, all of the farms listed below are open right up to October 31 for those last minute plans.
All of the farms offer a range of Jack-O’-Lanterns from extra large, extra small, orange or white with many locations offering huge pumpkin patches to explore, so you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Below are patches around the region perfect for picking your favourite pumpkins to get into the spooky spirit.
Kenyon Hall Farm
Kenyon Hall Farm has already started taking booking for its Pumpkin Festival this year. The farm will be open for pumpkin picking from Saturday, September 26 to Saturday October 31. Currently, all weekend and half term dates are now fully booked, but there is still availability for mid-week dates throughout October, including after-school slots.
Those wanting to go to Kenyon Hall Farm can also expect photo opportunities, new interactive elements seasonal treats in the café, and farm shop, pumpkin gift shop and free playground.
Price: £3.95 per person with children under 18 months free. Pumpkins at Kenyon Hall Farm start at £2 for the smallest sizes and range up to £10 or more for the largest varieties.

The Pumpkin Patch Hightown
This year, The Pumpkin Patch Hightown, known for its huge variety of pumpkins, will be celebrating its tenth year open to the public open from October 1 to October 31 from 9am to 6pm every single day.
Fresh pumpkins, squashes and gourds in a range of sizes will be on offer this year, with a range of refreshments available at the site including an ice cream van, a designated picnic area and artisan market tent on weekends. The farm also has a free five-acre maize maze to explore while you pick your pumpkins.
- Price: Entry for pumpkin picking is free with no booking required. All pumpkin prices are based off size. Cash and card is accepted.

Church View Farm
Church View Farm is welcoming guests from October 3 to October 31. The farm will be open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm with Triviso Ice Cream and a fairground to access on weekends.
The farm recommends visiting early in the month as it may sell out before Halloween.
Price: No booking needed with no admission fee. You only pay for the specific pumpkins you pick (pricing varies by size/type). Cash and card is accepted for pumpkins and in the farm shop and it is worth noting the fairground is cash only.

Windmill Animal Farm
This year, Windmill Animal Farm is holding The Great Pumpkin Picking Adventure described to be a ‘no mud, no mess’ pumpkin picking experience where all tickets include all farm activities including pumpkin picking, farm train, Heebie Jeebie Shows featuring live characters and indoor and outdoor attractions.
The farm has teamed up with a local farmer, whose family has been growing some of Lancashire’s finest vegetables for generations, and together getting ready for thousands of pumpkins in all shapes, sizes and colours.

The Pumpkin Patch at Bungalow Farm
Bungalow Farm based in Scarisbrick, is running its pumpkin picking adventure from October 1 to October 30 with free entry, free parking, food vendors, sweet treats, a tractor attraction, face painting and much more.
The farm shop will be open as usual with cash and card available for purchasing pumpkins.
