The One Show host Alex Jones will be joining the BBC Children In Need presenting team for the first time this November

Many of us know Alex Jones from her 16 years presenting The One Show but it has been announced that she will be fronting a different BBC show this autumn.
The Welsh presenter has expressed her delight that she will be hosting the channel’s Children In Need appeal programme for the first time ever this November.
Annually audiences at home look forward to doing their bit and watching the charity’s fundraising broadcast. The 49-year-old TV personality from Ammanford is the first name announced as part of the hosting line-up.
This year’s fundraising initiative, Challenge Yourself 2026, will invite participants to devise their own challenge based on the number 26 and collect funds for the corporation’s charity supporting children and young people. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter
Speaking of her new role Alex said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining this year’s BBC Children In Need presenting team.
“Every year the appeal shines a light on the incredible projects and people making a real difference to children and young people across the UK.
“It’s something that we champion through the Challenge Squad on The One Show and it’s a privilege to help tell those stories.
“At a time when so many young people are facing challenges, the support funded by BBC Children In Need has never been more important.”
Alex said she “can’t wait” to be part of the appeal broadcast which will air BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Friday, November 13, and see the “nation come together once again” to ensure “every child has someone by their side when they need it most”.
The broadcaster is among several personalities who have endorsed the Challenge Yourself 2026 campaign and urged the public to undertake a challenge or contribute to the charity ahead of the appeal programme.
Additional participants include Spice Girls member Emma Bunton, dancer and Kiss radio presenter Jordan Banjo, comedian Mel Giedroyc, fitness instructor Joe Wicks, and Irish television presenter Angela Scanlon.
The Children In Need initiative has also unveiled a limited edition T-shirt created by the Baby Spice. The garments are sold exclusively at George at Asda with proceeds helping fund services for youngsters and adolescents.
Supporters can also participate in Run With Pudsey And Joe Wicks, which encourages participants to complete a marathon by running two miles daily during the fortnight before the appeal broadcast.
Alex will be accompanied on the night by several other presenters who will be announced ahead of the show.
