Hotel madness in Manchester following huge Oasis announcement as rooms disappear and prices soar

Hotel rooms across the city in June 2027 have gone up in price, down in price and even disappeared off the market completely after Oasis confirmed a mega 11-night residency at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium.

Rumours swirled in recent weeks that a new tour was on the cards following the popularity of the Oasis Live ‘25 tour. In July the Manchester Evening News reported, based on multiple sources, that a 12-night residency was planned for Manchester in 2027, fuelling speculation.

At the start of September the band teased numerous videos on social media, each one implying a different tour location. Then on September 10 a 120-metre drone display lit up the skies outside the Etihad, displaying the band’s name alongside the date and time of 14.9.26 at 4pm BST.

That announcement revealed that Oasis will play an incredible 38-date tour next summer, including 11 nights in Manchester. The band will perform in Glasgow, Manchester, Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Boston, Las Vegas, and Ireland before finishing with an epic return to Knebworth.

The tour begins on May 21, 2027, at Glasgow’s Celtic Park and will conclude with four nights at Knebworth, finishing on September 19. Oasis are set to perform in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium on June 4, 6, 8, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 25, 26.

Prior to the band’s official tour announcement, the M.E.N reported that hotels were already surging prices in June in preparation for thousands of gig-goers descending on the city. We analysed the prices for more than 80 hotels across the city.

We selected a two night stay in June, 4-6, and compared them to a two-night stay in May. The research found that many hotels were more expensive in June, with some even double the price compared to May. Those prices were checked on August 20 and 21. It’s important to note that some hotels had not opened for booking for 2027, or for summer 2027, so were not necessarily blocking out dates.

Since the tour dates have been announced, we have looked at a selection of one-night stays across three Manchester Etihad dates for the majority of these hotels to compare the prices. In most cases hotel prices have increased since the tour announcement, although some have stayed the same while a few have decreased.

One of the biggest increases was Staycity Aparthotel Manchester Piccadilly. Our original research showed an apartment available for £233 per night on June 4, this has now surged to £999 a night. The Alan has nearly doubled its prices, rising from £222 a night to £425 on June 4. Similarly Travelodge has increased its prices by more than double in some cases: a one night stay at Travelodge Manchester Central was priced at £138.99 per night, while new research shows it as £329.99 on June 4.

Interestingly Leven Manchester has no availability for the whole of June, despite its website showing dates available in both May and July. Hotel Indigo Manchester – Victoria Station By IHG also has no availability.

In some cases room prices have decreased. A room at Treehouse Hotel on June 4 is now priced at £169 for a cosy king, whereas this was previously £259. Rooms at voco Manchester – City Centre have also dropped from £259 to £247 on June 4.
