The tragic death of Heroes and Nashville star Hayden Panettiere shocked fans around the world. A coroner’s report has now confirmed what took the 36-year-old star’s life.
Panetierre died from the “toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, Alprazolam, Methocarbamol, and Quetiapine,” according to a press release from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. The report rules the death an accident.
A previous report on Panettiere’s cause fo death, originating at TMZ, suggested that Panettiere died of an overdose after taking oxycodone laced with fentanyl supplied by a drug dealer with whom Panettiere had a longtime relationship. This new release from the coroner’s office provides clarifying details and specifics.
Panetierre died on Aug. 16, days before turning 37. She was found unresponsive at an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina. The coroner’s report says Panetierre was in cardiac arrest when the 911 call came in.
“EMS personnel initiated advanced cardiac life support measures; however, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2:32 PM,” the statement says. The release also confirms that there were “no signs of trauma” that would have “contributed to her death.”
The investigation into Panettiere’s death is still ongoing. However, the Greenville Police Department says its preliminary investgation “has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.”
