Allu Arjun and Atlee’s highly anticipated pan-India film Raaka has achieved a Guinness World Record for the “Most People Motion Captured in Real Time.” The record involved 37 performers being captured simultaneously, with the feat officially certified on September 15, 2026. The ambitious project is produced by Sun Pictures.
The achievement highlights Raaka’s ambitious technical scale, with 92 optical motion capture cameras used alongside facial capture, real time Unreal Engine visualisation, synchronisation and specialised VFX workflows. Performers aged between four and 70 participated in the sequence, underlining the complexity of Atlee’s large scale filmmaking approach.
Despite celebrating the Guinness recognition, sections of Allu Arjun’s global fanbase expressed disappointment over the birthday update for Atlee. Many expected a powerful first look, glimpse or exclusive visual from Raaka, especially after weeks of anticipation surrounding the director’s birthday. Instead, the makers initially focused entirely on the technical achievement.
The subsequent behind the scenes video showcased the motion capture process, performers, equipment and extensive technical work but reportedly offered little visual output from the actual film. Fans acknowledged the world record achievement while expressing their desire for a proper visual glimpse. With Raaka positioned as an ambitious sci fi action spectacle, expectations now remain high for a future teaser or first look reveal.
