Special screenings of Twin Town touring across Wales with special guest appearance

The iconic film will will tour ten Welsh venues, with screenings and special Q&A events

Iconic Welsh movie Twin Town with go on a special tour of Wales through October, it has announced. Special screenings of the Swansea-based cult classic will be held across ten venues.

And each evening will feature a special question and answer session with the film’s director, Kevin Allen. The tour kicks off at Gwyn Hall in Neath on Friday, October 9, followed by a showing at Pontardawe Arts Centre on Tuesday, October 13.

The following day, it will be shown at Swansea’s Taliesin, before it will then be screened at Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan on Thursday, October 15. From superstar gigs to cosy pubs, find out What’s On in Wales by signing up to our newsletter here.

The tour then moves to the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven on Friday, October 16, and The Welfare at Ystradgynlais on Monday, October 19.

On Tuesday, October 20, it will be shown at the town hall in Maesteg, before heading to Bangor’s Pontio on Thursday, October 29.

The final two dates will be at Caernarfon’s Galeri on Friday, October 30, and Neuadd Dwyfor in Pwlheli on Saturday, October 31.

Starring Rhys Ifans and his real-life brother Llyr, the hugely popular film tells the story of the notorious Lewis twins as they run riot in the local community.

Two adolescent tearaways, the plot sees them end up embarking on a tit-for-tat campaign of violence with a local business man after their father suffers an injury at work.

Directed by Kevin Allen and released in 1997 it was initially hailed as being “as filthy as it is funny” and “Wales’ answer to Trainspotting.”
