A Birmingham school has just opened a new nursery dedicated to two-year-olds.
Lift Four Dwellings Primary in Quinton is welcoming its youngest pupils this term, with children now able to start their school journey at the age of two for the first time.
‘The Nest’ has a garden, sand play, trikes and a tunnel together with new learning and play equipment designed for younger children, creating a bright and engaging environment for them to explore and learn.

The focus is on children’s language, communication and personal and social development, while daily outdoor learning and active play help them build confidence and develop new skills.

The new nursery sits alongside the school’s existing provision for three-year-olds, giving children the opportunity to grow in confidence and become familiar with the school from an early age.
Head of school Jaime Bryan said: “We are delighted to open our doors to two-year-olds and welcome our youngest children into the Lift Four Dwellings family.
“Starting at two gives children the opportunity to become familiar with the school, build relationships and grow in confidence from an early age.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing them settle in and begin their learning journey with us.”

Nabila Jiwa, Regional Education Director for Lift Schools, said: “It’s fantastic to see the new provision welcoming children into Lift Four Dwellings.
“Giving families the opportunity to start their children at the school earlier means they can build relationships, settle into school life and grow in confidence as they learn and develop.”
The opening follows the school’s successful application for government funding to expand its nursery, responding to demand for places for younger children in the local area.
