Comedian Ed Gamble says he will be heading straight to a Coventry restaurant the next time he tours the Midlands after it impressed him with its bold flavours, authenticity and dedication to quality.
Jinseon Korean BBQ scooped £100,000 after being named Uber Eats UK Restaurant of the Year 2026, with Gamble leading the judging panel.
He said: “I can’t wait to see how this prize makes a difference for the business. Next time I’m touring in the Midlands, I’ll be heading straight into Jinseon Korean BBQ.”
The restaurant was selected from 45 nominated eateries across the country, winning over judges and the public with its Korean barbecue dishes, premium meats and authentic marinades.
Fellow judge Merve Basci, general manager of Uber Eats UK, said: “Jinseon Korean BBQ really stood out for their freshness, bold flavours, and attention to detail on their cooking techniques.”
Jinseon plans to invest the prize money in more specialist grills imported exclusively from Korea and expand its delivery service.
Managing director Ken Tsang said the victory was a tribute to his team’s dedication and the support of the local community.
He said: “Winning the Uber Eats UK Restaurant of the Year 2026 is a dream come true. This award isn’t just recognition for our food, but for the hard work of our whole team and the support of our community. The £100,000 prize will allow us to expand our business, and we can’t wait to take the next step in our journey.”
Alongside Gamble and Basci, the judging panel featured Seema Pankhania, Lorraine Copes, Toby Inskip (Eating with Todd) and the previous year’s winner, Chris Riley from Silver’s Deli.
Jinseon was one of nine national finalists who competed in London for the award. Each finalist will also receive £5,000 for winning their regional round, alongside marketing and business support from Uber Eats.
Coqfighter claimed the £25,000 runner-up award, while The Nashville Cluck secured £10,000 for finishing third. These two prizes were introduced this year to celebrate Uber Eats’ 10th anniversary in the UK.
The awards, now in their fifth year, celebrate small, independent restaurants. Hundreds of establishments are nominated annually, with public voting followed by assessment from industry specialists.
