It was a mere 35 years ago that Commodore Amiga gamers got to enjoy the top-down action of Alien Breed. Now, Commodore and the original developers, Team17, have released all six games in the Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It brings all the claustrophobic excitement in all its glory, plus new features and never-before-seen material. Watch the new trailer below…
When Alien Breed first released in 1991, it was a hit with gamers. Its intense alien-killing action along with searching for key cards and ammunition while racing against an ever-decreasing self-destruct countdown, felt fresh and exhilarating. From then on, Team17 pushed the hardware even harder with five more games ending with the first-person battles of Alien Breed 3D and Alien Breed 3D II.
This collection features all six games from the original era, along with all the platform variations, original demos and two decades of archived material that has spent too many years hidden away in dusty boxes and old hard drives.

Players can go into these games and play just like we had to back in the day – with one button and a lot of patience and determination. But for those who want the luxury of modern conveniences, there are options for dual-stick controls that allow players to shoot independently of where they are running, instant save states, retro screen filters, and rumble support.
This collection also adds a new Horde Mode that drops players into ever-increasing waves of aliens using whatever they can scavenge to defend with, and a Rush Mode.
Alongside the games is a Virtual Museum that documents the marketing art, soundtracks, developer interviews, original physical media, and material from cancelled projects, including the Alien Breed PSP game and real-time strategy game.
Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection is available now on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch version will arrive later this year.
