Jason Statham's Relentless 105-Minute Action Thriller Is Officially Leaving Streaming Next Month

One of Jason Statham‘s best action thrillers is officially set to depart at least one streaming service next month, further limiting its availability. Most recently, The Stath has been pleasing his loyal followers with the likes of Shelter and Mutiny this year, dishing out his own brand of vigilante justice. However, it’s his 2024 hit that’s leaving Peacock on Oct. 1, meaning now is as good a time as any to revisit the non-stop thrill ride before it’s gone.

Grossing $162 million at the box office, The Beekeeper hit theaters on Jan. 12, 2024, and instantly became a fan favorite that scored a Verified Hot rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. That was enough to place it third on the list of Statham’s best reviewed movies, though it should be noted that Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels are both tied for first place with a 93% audience score.

Serving as the first collaboration between Statham and director David Ayer (A Working Man followed one year later), The Beekeeper stars Statham as Adam Clay; a former black-ops agent who used to be part of a shadowy organization now living life as, well, a beekeeper. When the retired school teacher he rents space from falls victim to a phishing scam that ultimately takes her life, Clay sees red, becoming a one-man-army determined to extract glorious vengeance from all those responsible.

While The Beekeeper can be streamed on its regular home of Prime Video at the moment, the film has also been available to stream on Peacock since Sept. 1. However, all that will change very soon, as the website What Is Leaving notes that the last day to watch Statham’s 105-minute action thriller on the NBCUniversal-owned platform is Sept. 30. This regularly happens in the streaming world as licenses expire and films get moved around, so it’s best to take advantage of it now while you still can.

What’s Next For Jason Statham?

Always one to stay busy, Statham has a number of projects on the go right now, not the least of which is The Beekeeper 2. Slated to hit theaters on Jan. 15, 2027, the sequel will be directed by Timo Tjahjanto (The Shadow Strays, Nobody 2) and once again feature The Stath, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, and Jeremy Irons. Newcomers to the franchise include Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff and Adam Copeland.

Also in the works is the meta-action comedy, Jason Statham Stole My Bike, which sees him play a fictionalized version of himself. Directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw), major plot details are still under wraps, but what we do know is that it also stars Hannah Waddingham (whose excellent Prime Video series, Ride or Die, was just given the axe after one season), Eddie Peng, and Daniel Ings. Look for it to open nationwide on August 6, 2027.
