Megastar Chiranjeevi is reportedly expanding his presence beyond films into theatre exhibition. In partnership with Asian Cinemas, he is already linked to a major Financial District project featuring an ambitious large format screen. The proposed venture could be branded Asian Megastar Cinemas or Asian Chiranjeevi Cinemas, although the final name remains unconfirmed.
Meanwhile, reports suggest Chiranjeevi and Asian Cinemas have taken over Talluri Theatres in Hyderabad’s Kushaiguda area. The existing property is reportedly being upgraded with modern projection, sound and audience facilities, potentially transforming it into a multiplex-style destination. However, details about the number of screens, seating capacity and technology remain undisclosed.
The refurbished Kushaiguda property is reportedly being prepared for a Sankranthi 2027 launch, with Asian Megastar Cineplex among the names being discussed. An official announcement regarding the branding, opening date and specifications is still awaited. The timing would also coincide with Chiranjeevi’s confirmed Sankranthi release Kaaka on January 13, 2027.
The larger Financial District project remains the headline attraction, with reports claiming plans to challenge existing records for the world’s largest operating cinema screen. Germany’s Traumpalast Leonberg currently has a 127 by 69 foot screen, setting a major benchmark. Chiranjeevi and Asian Cinemas are reportedly planning an even larger premium cinema experience for Hyderabad.
