A tourist has shared a video of her day out to a ‘charming town’ that’s just a 40-minute journey from Bristol and it looks like a ‘storybook’ setting even in the rain

For those seeking a “charming” day trip nearby, a visitor has highlighted a Wiltshire town just 40 minutes from Bristol that resembles something “out of a storybook”. Eliza Radu posted footage of the destination in a TikTok clip, urging her audience to include it on their must-visit bucket list.
Her video opened outside the picturesque Bridge Tea Rooms, where she savoured a quintessentially English cup of tea before embarking on a stroll beside the River Avon. “Just 10 minutes by train from Bath, this little town is one of the prettiest day trips you can do if you’re visiting the area,” Eliza recommended.
She subsequently disclosed the location, stating: “A rainy day in Bradford-on-Avon feels like stepping into an old English novel.”
Eliza proceeded by painting the picture, continuing: “Think honey-coloured cottages, riverside walks, historic bridges, cosy cafés and quiet streets that somehow look even more magical in the rain.”
The weather proved no deterrent as she went on to outline numerous activities available in the town. “It’s slower, quieter, and feels like the kind of England you imagine in films and storybooks,” she said.
Eliza concluded by presenting her recommended itinerary, which featured a walk along the Avon, wandering through medieval streets, discovering the ancient stone Town Bridge and pausing for a coffee.

It continues: “Wander back into town along the canal or riverside and you can’t miss the superb town bridge – parts of which date back to the 13th century – that replaced the ford.
“In the centre of its nine arches is a medieval pilgrim chapel which was later converted into a lock up for undesirables.”
