Oh, to be Eva Longoria! The Desperate Housewives star has already experienced the food and drink of Mexico and Spain for two TV travelogues, and now, in this eight-part series – eight parts! – she explores the culinary traditions and culture of France. She opens her journey in the capital city of Paris and ends in Britanny, and along the way she visits the gastronomic hotspots of Provence, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Alsace.
It’s nice work if you can get it, and some celebrities make series like this hard work to watch when they don’t properly engage with the place and subject – but Eva throws herself into the whole experience with gusto and lets out a hearty, infectious laugh whenever she’s enjoying herself. She’s a good travel guide, and it’s hard to begrudge her the extended holiday. (Eight episodes)
