The third season of Landman is finally underway after months of production delays.
Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ series has faced several setbacks, with the shoot originally scheduled for May. Although no official reason was given for the delay, the Yellowstone creator has stayed busy managing several other shows.
Now, actor James Jordan — one of Sheridan’s frequent collaborators — has shared a promising update on Instagram. Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley in the show, shared a picture from set with the caption, “Up n runnin’ and back after it!”
Jordan has kept fans updated on the status of the show recently, confirming last month that the Landman cast members were beginning to receive their scripts for season three. The update came after the series co-creator Christian Wallace said that Sheridan was still writing the season in August.
The Independent has contacted Paramount for the latest update on the show.
Landman is a gritty Western series centered on the oil rig industry. After the show premiered in 2024, its 10-episode second season began airing in November 2025 and concluded in early 2026. Although fans were hopeful that the third season would follow the release pattern and debut before the end of 2026, the delayed production likely means that will not be happening.
Billy Bob Thornton stars on the show as Tommy Norris, a top oil executive. The cast also includes Jordan, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Sam Elliott, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie and Colm Feore.
It is not just the release schedule that is changing for season three. New cast members were announced ahead of production, including actor Michael Kelly, who stars in Sheridan’s other show Lioness. Kelly is expected to portray William Crockett, an oil titan.
Although Sheridan is known to cast the same actors like Jordan and Kelly across his many projects, Lioness star Zoe Saldaña recently said she has no plans to join the prolific Yellowstone creator on any of his other ventures.
“I think that Joe McNamara and Lioness is all that I can handle at this time,” Saldaña told People in an interview published Sunday, referring to her character in the show. She has starred in the show and served as an executive producer for all three seasons.
She continued: “I can’t imagine me taking on more of a Taylor Sheridan world.”
In addition to Yellowstone, Lioness, and Landman, Sheridan is responsible for several other shows including 1883, 1923 and Dutton Ranch.
