A landmark Poundland store is to close after the owners were unable to secure new lease terms.
Bosses from the Scott Arms branch, in Great Barr, said they were as disappointed as their customers as it emerged the shop would shut on October 25.
A spokesperson confirmed the decision was made because a new lease deal could not be agreed.

The busy store is based at the junction of Queslett Road and the bustling Scott Arms junction.

A representative said: “Sadly our Great Barr store at Walsall Road is set to close on October 25 after we were unable to secure new lease terms.
“We know how popular this store is with customers and we’re as disappointed as them. We’ll do all we can to support colleagues at the store and that work is underway as part of our consultation.”
News of the closure sparked reaction on Facebook.
Sharon Henley wrote: “I’m the store manager and can confirm we close on October 25. Please bear in mind colleagues are losing their jobs because of the closure.”
