Everything Coming to Apple TV in October 2026

Unlike streaming services like Peacock and Disney+, Apple TV isn’t really leaning into the Halloween vibes this year. Instead, the streaming platform is opting to stay the usual course of prestige original shows, movies, and documentaries. It is, however, still home to the Peanuts holiday specials, and even if you aren’t a subscriber, you’ll be able to watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” for free the weekend of Saturday, October 17.

New Series and Movies Coming to Apple TV in October

The Last First: Winter K2 – October 2

Apple TV is getting one new documentary in October, which happens to be one of two new additions about climbing. Directed by Amir Bar-Lev, The Last First: Winter K2 was filmed back in 2021, when a group of climbers tried to ascend the titular second-highest mountain on Earth. The documentary will be coming to Apple TV after its premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.

The Sisters Grimm Season 2 – Premieres October 2

One of the only family-friendly additions of the month, The Sisters Grimm is premiering its second season on October 2. The animated series, which is based on Michael Buckley’s graphic novels, follows two relatively modern sisters who discover a town full of fairy tales.

Small Prophets – October 7

Apple TV might be known for its thrillers and sci-fi, but it’s also home to some genre-bending comedies like Widow’s Bay. Hoping to join the better ranks of that list is Small Prophets, a six-part series that follows an aging man who turns to alchemy and magical spirits to find his one true love. Despite premiering on BBC Two earlier this year, unfortunately this one won’t be available to UK subscribers until 2027.

Matchbox the Movie – October 9

A series of projects based on various Mattel toys got the green light after the success of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. One of those projects is now coming to fruition as Matchbox the Movie, inspired by the titular toy car line. John Cena stars as Sean, an undercover CIA agent who enlists his childhood friend group to help save the world.

Where’s Wanda? Season 2 – Premieres October 21

The darkly funny German series Where’s Wanda is returning for a second season toward the end of the month. While Carlotta and Deda managed to get some semblance of their lives back in Season 1, yet another crisis with their daughter, Wanda, threatens to tear their family apart again.

Tenzing – October 16

Tenzing is based on the true story of Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary, the first climbers to summit Mount Everest. Genden Phuntsok and Tom Hiddleston as the legendary climbers, who have their worldviews challenged by both the harrowing climb and each other. The film will receive a limited theatrical release starting October 9 before its Apple TV streaming premiere on October 16.

Nocturne – October 30

An entirely new Apple Original series, Nocturne is loosely based on the Joona Linna crime novels by Lars Kepler, the pen name for Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril. It stars Liev Schreiber as Jonah Lynn, a detective who heads to a small Pennsylvania town embroiled in the threat of a serial killer’s return.
