'Wednesday' Season 3 Debuts Official New Look as Hit Netflix Series Crosses Major Milestone

Great news ghouls and gals — Wednesday Season 3 has officially wrapped production, and Netflix is providing viewers with a teasing new look at what to expect from the upcoming third entry in the popular streaming series. Several thrilling new faces will join the cast as they journey to new locations for the spooky return.

The Wednesday cast is already jam-packed with talented stars, from series lead and our gal Wednesday herself, Jenna Ortega, to the stunning Catherine Zeta-Jones and, of course, our queen and former Wednesday, Christina Ricci. They’ll be joined by a slew of mega-talented new additions for Season 3, including several favorites in the horror sphere. Beetlejuice‘s own Winona Ryder was already announced, as were Noah Taylor of Peaky Blinders, Gotham Knights star Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer of Roofman and Task fame, but they’ll be joined by several brand-new faces as well.

Those include Game of Thrones star Lena Headey, St. Elmo’s Fire‘s Andrew McCarthy, and the spectacular James Lance, who viewers fell in love with on Ted Lasso. Eva Green, who’s experience working with Tim Burton goes back more than a decade, will also be joining the cast as the mysterious and inscrutable Aunt Ophelia. She told Tudum, Netflix’s online editorial hub, that she couldn’t be more excited to bring her unique energy to the Wednesday cast.

“I’m thrilled to join the woefully twisted world of Wednesday as Aunt Ophelia,” she said. “This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world, I can’t wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams family.”

A new look at Wednesday Season 3 shared by Netflix shows Wednesday writing on a typewriter. A previous still featured her in Paris as a globe-trotting adventure appears to be in the gloomy character’s future. Additional filming for Season 3 largely took place in the Dublin area, where much of the first two seasons were shot.

Wednesday co-creator and show runner Alfred Gough teased great things for Season 3, revealing that “our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can.”

We’ve yet to learn the release date for Season 3 of Wednesday, but with production wrapped, a vague timeline can be estimated based on previous seasons. There was a turnaround of approximately eight months for Season 2, between production wrapping and the season’s official release, so viewers can likely expect a similar timeframe for Season 3. With that in mind, we can vaguely expect to see more Wednesday coming to Netflix by mid-to-late 2027.
